Pollution Creates Box Jellyfish Problem

The tentacle connection is clear - pollution creates the box jellyfish problem.

On a lovely Koh Mak beach in the Gulf of Thailand, plastic bottles and other rubbish collected in recent clean-up events has led to the creation of this fantastic box jellyfish sculpture.

Pollution in all of its damaging forms and nutrification of the sea water from farming run-off is believed to have led to increasing the problem of jellyfish blooms. Jellyfish thrive in the conditions created by these circumstances with food stock abundant, predator numbers diminishing and chances of survival increasing dramatically.

Koh Mak has cleverly put the attention on both the problems of littering and pollution along with box jellyfish through the creation of this fantastic beach sculpture.
